Production Technician Team Leader - Actuators and Non-Propulsion Motors

Overview

This role leads a team of five to ten electromechanical technicians building actuators and non-propulsion motors to achieve safety, quality, and productivity goals. Joby’s production team is made up of extremely talented, hardworking, proactive, and hands-on individuals, operating in a very fast-paced and rewarding environment. Come help us build advanced powertrains and electronics as we transform transportation.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain a safe work environment
• Be the first line of support for the team
• Determine who on the team will take action, and when, to build what (utilizing production planners and kanban replenishment signals)
• Own problems’ escalations and resolutions, collaborating closely with production supervisors, maintenance, planners, inventory specialists, quality inspectors, and engineers
• Lead 5S and 4S+S activities and reporting for the team’s area
• Achieve training sign-off on multiple production processes to build and troubleshoot with the team

Required

• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• 2+ years of experience in manufacturing or equivalent work experience
• Ability to work Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM
• Flexibility to adapt to changing work assignments
• Ability to think strategically and prioritize work assignments to meet goals
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computing skills
• Ability to lift 25-30 lbs

Desired

• 2+ years of experience leading teams of people in a production or R&D environment
• Prior experience with complex electromechanical assembly and testing
• Familiarity with a Manufacturing Execution System (MES)

Additional Information

Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $35-$47/hr. The compensation package will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
