Summary
The Industrial Security Technician will support the Facility Security Officer/Security Manager and serve as one of the primary points of contact for visitors entering CAE USA Inc.’s Arlington, TX facility. This role is responsible for presenting a professional and courteous image while ensuring compliance with all visitor control requirements. The Security Technician enforces established security policies related to visitor access and resolves access related issues with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment.
In addition to front desk responsibilities, the Security Technician will perform a range of administrative and security support functions, including badge creation, data entry, record maintenance, building access administration, and log management in accordance with 32 CFR Part 117 (NISPOM Rule) and security policies. The position supports a fast paced and technically diverse workforce, including government, military, and contractor personnel.
The Security Technician must be detail oriented, highly organized, and capable of working independently while interacting effectively with personnel at all levels of the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Act as first line of security implementing Visitor policies and monitoring visitors while they are in the Lobby
- Greet all visitors and determine purpose of visit, assure proper sign-in, maintain visitor’s register (record arrival time, visitor’s name, Government Agency/Vendor Name, purpose of visit, and citizenship) and issue badges in accordance with Security procedures
- Process all incoming visits with proper personnel
- Activate and issue temporary badges to personnel using the Security badging system
- Coordinate visitor’s arrival with responsible point of contact
- Answer desk phone in professional manner and transfer incoming calls to proper person
- Be prepared to implement procedures for potentially serious circumstances (e.g., suspicious personnel, activities, severe weather and company disaster evacuations)
- Provide back-up support for the Arlington security team
- Assist with supporting internal self-inspections and government security reviews
- Other duties as assigned
